Shree Datta Jayanti Celebrations at Tapobhoomi: The Sacred Offerings of “Datta Bhiksha” and “Chhappan Bhog

According to our sacred tradition, it is believed that 33 crore deities reside within the sacred cow. To fathom the true essence of the deity we revere and to live in accordance with this understanding fosters the cultivation of profound wisdom.The incarnation of Prabhu Dattatreya serves as a wisdom of knowledge, and his life offers a timeless lesson in unity, solidarity, and spiritual fortitude for the Hindu community” as articulated by the esteemed Peethadhishwar of Shree Datt Padmanabh Peeth, Padmashree Awardee Sadguru Brahmeshanandacharya Swamiji, during his divine and illuminating discourse.

The morning session commenced with the recitation of the Shree Dattamala Mantra, the ceremonial offering of Datta Bhiksha, and an array of other sacred rituals conducted by devoted adherents. The Mahapooja was performed at the revered Samadhi of Rashtrasant Sadguru Brahmanandacharya Swamiji, accompanied by the Rudrabhishek at the consecrated Shree Datta Temple. This sacred morning was further sanctified by the offering of Chhappan Bhog (56 delicacies), the Datta Bhiksha, Purnahuti, and the grand Shree Datta Maharti. The session concluded with the sacred darshan and the distribution of Mahaprasad imbuing all present with divine blessings.

The evening’s celebration unfolded in a grandiose display of devotion, with a regal ceremonial worship enriched by Vedic chants, musical performances, and artistic expressions that suffused the atmosphere with transcendental reverence. The grand procession, featuring a resplendent palanquin, was accompanied by the rhythmic resonance of cymbals, drums, and other traditional instruments, creating an aura of divine celebration. The occasion culminated in Swamiji’s divine benedictions, the resplendent Maha aarti, darshan, and the distribution of Mahaprasad, bestowing the assembled devotees with unparalleled spiritual grace.

The event was graced by the esteemed members of the managing committee of Shree Datta Padmanabha Peeth, along with a multitude of devotees and well-wishers, all of whom contributed to the magnificent celebration.The program was conducted with exceptional eloquence by Shubhakshan Naik.
