Goa Spiritual Festival, the true identity of Goa: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant
Panaji: Goa will no longer be limited to just sun, sand, and sea; it will become the center of spirituality. Through this Spiritual Festival, Goa’s true identity will be established. In the future, Goa will be known as ‘Dakshin Kashi.’ Such events should be held every year. This historic moment has further strengthened Goa’s identity in the fields of yoga tourism, temple tourism, and spiritual tourism. The government will fully cooperate to ensure that Goa’s spiritual heritage is broadcast worldwide. This was stated by Goa’s Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant.
The Goa Spiritual Festival 2025, organized by the Shri Datt Padmanabh Peeth under the divine vision of spiritual leader, Padma Shri Sadguru Brahmeshanand Acharya Swamiji, featured a “Spiritual Cruise” as part of the festival. The Chief Minister made these remarks at the inauguration ceremony.
During the event, the Chief Minister honored all the saints and religious leaders present. Additionally, Chief Minister Sawant was presented with the “Goa Spiritual Ambassador” award by Sadguru Brahmeshanand Acharya Swamiji, Pujya Swamiji also bestowed blessings upon him. The Goa government also congratulated Sadguru Brahmeshanand Swamiji for receiving the Adhyatmik Shromani award.
The grand culmination of the Goa Spiritual Festival 2025 took place on the ‘Samudra Safar’ Spiritual Cruise, which was filled with devotion and a divine atmosphere. National and international saints, the Chief Minister, eminent dignitaries, and countless devotees gathered, creating a sacred spiritual atmosphere at the seashore with mantras, bhajans, and Goa’s devotional music. The Spiritual Cruise was also adorned with various programs such as entertainment, bhajans, and dindi.
Prominent attendees included Anant Shri Vibhushit Swami Jitendraanand Saraswatiji, General Secretary – Akhil Bhartiya Sant Samiti and Ganga Sabha; Anant Shri Vibhushit Shri 108 Taponishtha Agnihotri Pujya Swami Sampurnanand Brahmachari, Secretary – Agni Akhada; Anant Shri Vibhushit Swami Bhupendragiriji Maharaj (Haridwar); Baba Hathayogi Ji (Head – Gauri Shankar Goshala, Haridwar); Swami Shankaratilakji Maharaj (Grenada, Spain); Yogi Ashutosh Ji (Delhi); and other saints. Also present were Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar, MLA Nilesh Cabral, and BJP Goa President Damodar Naik.
Goa is not just a land of tourism but a land of saints and spiritual practices. Just as the Ganga Aarti is famous in North India, the Sea Narayan Maha Aarti in Goa will become a spiritual tradition. ‘Samudra Safar’ is not just a cruise journey, but a journey of self-purification. This is a significant moment to take Goa’s spirituality to the global stage. In the future, the ‘Samudra Safar’ Spiritual Cruise will be recognized as a unique experience of Goa’s spirituality.
